Tool manufacturing in a fishing town may seem strange, but the Consolidated Pneumatic Tool Company
had employed thousands of Fraserburgh men and women since its beginning in 1906.
*During the war years, the CPT made bayonets and parts for
the Bofors Gun
for the world famous Spitfire aircraft.
In peacetime they produced air tools for the shipbuilding industry and for the assembly of
famous world structures, such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia.
Airline round the World’
was an appropriate advert for this unique Fraserburgh-based factory.
Three compressors and a selection of tools are on display and may be handled,
also many early photographs like the one below and of work areas and staff,
